RESULTS - TEST SCORES(MCAS)

Check Out where our alums are currently attending college!

The Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System provides an annual benchmark for students in English and Math. All students must pass the tenth grade exam to earn a diploma. The first chart shows that 100% of our students did so on the first attempt last spring.

Our school sets a more ambitious goal - for all students to earn proficient or advanced status on both exams. We are making progress on this front, and the second chart shows the percentage of last year's tenth grade class who earned proficient or advanced status compared to their peers in the state and district of Boston.

The reasons for students' progress include: our culture of achievement, rigorous curriculum, great instruction, and more time and support. The Academy has designed a college preparatory curriculum, and all students are required to take four years of English, math, science, history, and Mandarin Chinese in the high school. We examine student outcomes on the MCAS each year to ensure that the results are in line with state frameworks, and we make instructional improvements to ensure that students are mastering the necessary content and skills for college success. In addition, this data helps us to continually improve instruction as well as focus on the needs of individual students.
