OVERVIEW OF THE HIRING PROCESS

The following steps outline our selection process, with each step yielding a smaller candidate pool until we have a talented and diverse group of finalists:

1. Send in a resume and cover letter to either Ms. Rene Dickhaut, Middle School Principal or Ms. Jenne Colosacco, High School Principal.

2. One of the Principals will schedule a phone interview with you for approximately 30 minutes.

3. Spend a half-day at the Academy getting to know the school.  Get a tour of the school and interview with Principal and 3-4 staff members.

4. Spend a half-day at the Academy and teach a sample lesson or completing a performance task.  The Principal and a group of teachers will debrief the sample lesson/performance task with you.

5. Provide references for us to call.  At least three references are required and we like to call more than five people.

6. Sign a contract for the following school year.

7. We invite all new teachers and staff to spend 2-5 days with us at the end of the school year (stipend available for this) to learn more about our school culture.
