In an effort to truly practice bicultural education and understanding, APR established an exchange opportunity with our partner school, Beijing #80. Each year in January, 15 students from Beijing visit APR for a ten-day stay where they live with students’ families, attend classes with APR students and tour Boston and surrounding neighborhoods. In April, fifteen APR students and two faculty members travel to China where they too are assigned to host families, attend classes and visit cultural locations throughout Beijing.
All high school students are eligible for this trip, and their
financial contribution is less than $300 (approximately 10% of the trip
cost). We select students based on the effort and character that they
demonstrate in school.
The following photos show both our students in Beijing and the Chinese
students at the Academy.
